SMRTI, the Annual Intercollegiate Cultural Fiesta is conducted every year by the college in the memory of college’s Founder Chairman Shri Nanalal Bhatt and his wife Shrimati Devkunvar Nanalal Bhatt. It is a celebration of culture, talent, and creativity, designed to showcase the talent of our students by providing a platform to express their artistic and creative abilities.

Day 1: INAUGURATION – 20th September 2023
The event commenced promptly at 9:30 AM with a beautiful rendition of the Tamil Thai Vazthu paid homage to our cultural heritage, setting the stage for a culturally enriching event followed by the College Prayer, recited to invoke a sense of unity and harmony among the attendees. The event official inauguration took place with the ceremonial opening of the screen, symbolizing the beginning of SMRTI Paarambariyam. The Inaugural Guests included our esteemed Chairman Shrimathi Mamta Bhatt, Ms.Tanvi Shah (Grammy Awardee), Dr. Salem Gayathri (Carnatic Singer) and Ms. Pavani Reddy (Actress).Chairman Mamta Bhatt delivered a Presidential Address, setting the tone for the event with her inspirational words. The Principal In-charge, Dr. R. Radha extended a warm welcome to the audience, expressing gratitude for their presence and support. The Fine Arts Convenor, Dr. K. Siva Shankari introduced the Inaugural Guests to the audience, highlighting their remarkable achievements in their respective fields. The Guest of Honour, Tanvi Shah, treated the audience to a mesmerizing jugalbandi of her songs, showcasing her extraordinary talent. Alumni of the college, Salem Gayathri, graced the event with a soulful Carnatic vocal performance that left everyone spellbound. Pavani Reddy, the acclaimed actress, delivered an insightful speech, adding depth to the inauguration ceremony. Followed by the inauguration, various cultural events were conducted in the Main Auditorium, Seminar Hall 1 & 2. Many students from 50 different colleges and diverse departments participated in 24 distinct events. The walk-in guests graced the occasion with their performances. The winners of these events were honored with trophies and certificates, recognizing their outstanding performances and contributions.
Day 2: VALEDICTORY – 21st SEPTEMBER 2023
The competitions continued with the same spirit in three venues. The walk-in guests graced the occasion with their performances. The second day of SMRTI Paarambariyam commenced the cultural events closed with the Valedictory programme. The Tamil Thai Vazthu was performed once again, connecting us to our cultural roots. College Prayer recited , reinforcing the importance of unity and blessings. 50 students of our college showcased the take-away messages through captivating hand gestures, conveying powerful emotions and ideas without the need for words. The Principal In-charge Dr. R. Radha delivered a Valedictory address, expressing gratitude for the continued support and participation of the attendees. Attendees enjoyed the college video, providing a glimpse into the institution journey, and an engaging SMRTI video that highlighted the event achievements. The Fine Arts Convenor, Dr. H .S. Rupa, introduced the Valedictory Guests, including the Founder Mr. Bhatt, Actress Ms. Monisha Blessy, Actor Mr. Subash, and Mr. RJ Sha, providing insights into their remarkable careers. The Founder Mr. Bhatt gave a Presidential Address, emphasizing the institution commitment to cultural preservation and student development. The Principal Incharge Dr. R. Radha delivered the Valedictory Address, reflecting on the significance of SMRTI Paarambariyam and its impact on the institution. The SMRTI Paarambariyam report was eloquently presented by the College Union Presidents: Manasa (Aided), Shree Varshini (Shift 1) and Asvitha (SFS Shift 2), offering a comprehensive overview of the event accomplishments. The Overall Trophy was awarded to MOP Vaishnav College, recognizing their outstanding performance in the various events. Dr. K. Padmavilasini, SMRTI Convenor, delivered a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants, guests, and organizers for their invaluable contributions to the success of SMRTI Paarambariyam. The event concluded with the National Anthem, symbolizing unity and patriotism, as participants and guests departed with a sense of pride and achievement. These detailed minutes capture the spirit and essence of SMRTI Paarambariyam, showcasing the celebration of our cultural heritage and the remarkable talents of our students and distinguished guests over two memorable days.

SMRTI KALOPSIA
SMRTI KALOPSIA – Embrace it! Feel it! Share it! (the state in which everything, and everyone, looks beautiful) , an Inter-Collegiate cultural festival was held on 28.04.2022 and 29.04.2022. The theme of the event was beauty. The main backdrop was designed in the way connecting our theme which includes a globe surrounded by nature, flowers, butterflies, people, musical instruments, 7 wonders, and so on.
The Guests of Honour for the inauguration were Mr.Kanna Ravi(actor), Mr. Praveen Raj Devasagayam (actor), Mr. VenkateshAppadurai&Ms.BhavyaTrikha – (Crew of the movie ‘Kathir’. Mr.KarthikDevaraj (Famous KeyBoardist) made his special appearance and glorified the event. Nine off-stage events and ten on-stage events were conducted,the popularity of a festival is judged by the support from the sponsors and without whom, the execution and success of this event could not have been possible. 48 exalted judges were judging the event. All judges were eminent academicians, musicians, artists, YouTube influencers, and Television personalities. Going by this yardstick the festival was a great success. And 15 walk-in-celebrities from the Cinema industry and YouTube influencers joined and graced the occasion. Around 500 students from more than 40 colleges enthusiastically participated in the events on both days. And the overall trophy of the Cultural Fest ‘KALOPSIA’ was bagged by ‘Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for women.’ The title event (Mr./Ms. Smrti) was conducted and it was won by a student from ‘The New College.’
The event ended with the Valedictory and the Guests of Honour for the Valedictory were Mr. Rio Raj( VJ,Actor), Dr.Sharmila (Dancer, Actor), and Mr. Johny (Dancer, Choreographer). Although academics are important, it is also essential once in a while to go out of the way to have fun and discover new opportunities outside the classroom atmosphere. These cultural events gave the opportunity to exactly do so. The showcase of the cultural extravaganza by the students from various colleges is a great learning experience for our students.Students would have enjoyed these two days with a lot of merriment and fun.

SMRTI NEERANJANAM
Smrti Neeranjanam, inter-collegiate cultural festival was held on 19.9.2019 and 20.9.2019. The chief guests for the inauguration were Mr. Mohan Vaidhya – Isai Vendhan, Sangeetha Daagram, Kala Deva Ratna, Muthamizh Vithagar, Shresta Kala Prachai, MOHAN VAIDHYA, the Genius musician, the Versatile actor, an expert Bharatanatyam dancer ,film producer Mr. R.K. Suresh, singer Ms. Nithyasree and costume designer Mrs. Sindhu Dayalan. Various Onstage events like bridal makeup, group dance, Bharathnatyam, Carnatic Vocal, variety, adzap, adaptune, western dance, and group singing were conducted. The off stage events were palm painting, quiz, dumbcharades, tamil kavidhai, mehendim, channel surfing, face painting, tamil and English oratory and vegetable carving. Students from various city colleges enthusiastically participated in the events .

SMRTI 2K19 SWARNOTSAV
SMRTI, the annual inter collegiate cultural fiesta, is conducted every year with great fanfare in memory of our founder chairman SHRI NANALAL BHATT and his wife SHRIMATHI DEVKUNVAR NANALAL BHATT. The theme of our cultural festival is SWARNOTSAV – Time travel. The three-day fest was attended by many students across the colleges in Chennai, who enthusiastically participated in 24 competitions. The mini train set design and the stage backdrop depicting “time travel” by Visual communication department found way as status in almost all mobiles. The students eagerly looked forward to this day. We have spared no attempt to include diverse events so that students from all over the city can participate and exhibit their talent.
Intercollegiate cultural fiesta was inaugurated on Jan 23 by the Carnatic Vocalists Mambalam Sisters, Dr. Sheela Unni Krishnan, Director Sridevi Nrithyalaya and Arun Suradhaa, Music Composer & Producer. Euphoria prevailed in the atmosphere as the guests performed.
After the inauguration, the onstage events like Variety Entertainment, Folk Dance, Carnatic Vocal, Light Music, Instrumental, Adaptune and Group dance. The participants showcased the varied talents and enthralled the audience with their enlightening performances of the participants.
The offstage events like Dumb Charades, Tamil Kavithai, Tattoo Making, English and Tamil oratory, Quiz, Bridal Makeup and Nail art events played a catalyst in bringing the best out of our talented students. The two day cultural fest saw exuberant students participate in a myriad of competitions. The mettle of these students was surely tested; nevertheless they were unfazed.
The Valedictory session on Jan 25th was presided by Padmashri Kamalhasan.

I am sure my fellow students would have enjoyed these two days with a lot of merriment and fun. I look forward to same fun-filled vibes and enthusiasm pervading the air in the following years to come.
