Department of Hindi was started in the year 1968 in the Aided stream. Since then the Department has offered Part- I Hindi to the College students. This Department focuses both on Literary aspects and Functional aspects of the Hindi Language . It also strives hard to impart social , moral & professional values in the young minds through Hindi Literature.

Our Hindi Department of Aided stream not only caters to the needs of students who have their roots at the Hindi speaking states but also imparts Linguistic skills to those from the home state and other Non-Hindi states also who are eager to learn this Language.Basic Hindi Level – 1 & Basic Hindi Level – 2 are the Non Major Elective papers offered to Non Hindi students which empower them in reading , writing and speaking Hindi at basic level

Variety of ‘ Education through entertainment’ events/programmes/competitions are conducted frequently to encourage and facilitate Non Hindi students to learn Hindi in a fun filled way. Pop with Hindi, Natak Dekho Hindi seekho, puppet shows, Learn 50 Hindi words in 15 minutes, Satrangi Hindi are some of the above said events .

Hindi students are also encouraged and guided to prepare and present research papers / articles in National & International level seminars and conferences.
