B.Sc. Psychology program was started in 2019-2020 under Self Finance Structure. It offers broad scientific training with a concentration in Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience; Developmental; Social; or Clinical and Behavioral Health. Psychology is a scientific subject that studies about the human mind and behaviour. Psychology studies about why humans behave in certain ways. The influence of various factors like culture, genetics and the physical and social environment which impact on the development of each individual which affects their perspective of the world. They can learn about various psychiatric disorders and its treatment. This subject requires a lot of self initiated learning to become a better psychologist. One can learn about themselves better and help in their overall improvisation in personality. This study is a growing subject and has a wide application in schools, colleges, companies and hospitals. They can run their private clinics. Many organizations recruit psychologists to understand about their employees issues and make them into productive workforce. In the growing age of technology and modernisation, where individuals have high stress levels and decreasing time of quality relationships with their families, resulting in mental health issues like depression, suicide, marital issues like divorce and inability of students to concentrate in their careers, Psychology proves itself to be a valuable subject and promotes the human welfare of society. Internship is encouraged for the students during the summer vacations to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real life application. However, it is not compulsory. Students must complete their B.Sc., M.Sc. and Phd. in their area of specialisation to work as qualified psychologists.
